News Update

May 29th 2026

URGENT NOTICE
Rotary Taipei Convention has been informed by the Taiwan government that, due to the Ebola outbreak and related border control measures adopted by the United States and other countries, Taiwan's entry restrictions are now being implemented for travelers from the following countries:
Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo)
Uganda
Effective immediately:
Visa or e-visa holders from the above two countries who had previously been approved for attendance at the Taipei Convention are not permitted to enter Taiwan.
Applications from these two countries that remain under review or pending processing will be canceled without further review.
Therefore, Rotary members, accompanying persons, family members, and guests from the above-mentioned countries who had planned to attend the Taipei Convention are advised to cancel the travel arrangements as soon as possible.
In addition, travelers of any nationality who have recently stayed in or traveled to the above countries may also be denied entry into Taiwan.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused due to these necessary public health precautions.
Best regards,
HOC, Taipei Convention

May 14th 2026

Dear all,
HOC’s e-visa support project officially closed at the close of business hours on May 12, 2026, Taiwan time. The final approvals or rejections are solely at the discretion of Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
If any applicant has not received an e-code, cannot complete the e-visa process with the notified e-code, or find that the information entered does not match the passport details (Visa Team cannot enter or modify applicant data), please proceed through MOFA’s regular visa application process.
Since the project launched on January 15 and continued for nearly four months with several deadline extensions, Visa Team assisted 2162 applications from 56 countries. Most applicants successfully obtained their e-visas. A small number of cases remain under MOFA review, which expect to receive e-codes around May 23, if approved.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation throughout the process.
Best regards,
HOC Visa Team

March 17th 2026

Dear Rotarians,
The HOC Visa Team of the Taipei Convention has completed reviewing thousands of applications for Taiwan e-visas. We sincerely thank you for your enthusiasm in planning to attend the Convention in Taipei.
The special e-visa application project was officially closed on March 15, 2026. All applicants who submitted their applications before the deadline should have received either a confirmation of acceptance, or a request to resubmit corrected or supplementary information.
We kindly ask all applicants to carefully check your email inbox and spam/junk folders to ensure that any request from the HOC Visa Team for corrected information has not been missed. Some applicants may have already received such requests but have not yet responded.
Please note that for resubmissions made after March 15, 2026, we cannot guarantee approval of an e-visa under this special project. Applicants are advised to apply for a visa through the regular visa application procedures.
Please visit the following link https://www.boca.gov.tw/lp-149-2.html to determine if your country is eligible for visa-free entry or for normal e-visa application. If it is not, you can find your embassy or consulate at https://www.boca.gov.tw/sp-foof-countrylp-01-2.html to start the process.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation. The Taipei Convention team is working diligently to assist as much as possible, and we look forward to warmly welcoming you to Taipei in June 2026 for what promises to be a memorable gathering of Rotary fellowship and service.
Warm regards,
HOC Visa Team, Taipei Convention
